18th May 2021
Good Afternoon Byford Basketball Families,
It’s been a very busy start to our winter season with our new committee in place. On behalf of the
committee we wish to Thank You All for your support, we have had a few teething issues but we are
all ready for Round 3 to commence next week.
Part of the committee’s commitment to our members is to have clear and effective communication
as such I would like to let you all know what we are doing around improvements/changes in the
Byford Basketball Logo – The Committee has been working with Basketball WA on our refreshed
logo for the club with links to our Shire/Community.
Byford Basketball Raffle – From next week the association, with the support of your local Bendigo
Bank Byford, will be selling raffle tickets in the community raffle. These ticket sales will support our
association in the replacement of uniforms for our players. Tickets are $5.00 and 100% of proceeds
go to Byford Basketball with the first prize being $15,000.00 – be in it to win it.
Court Supervisors – From this week all games will have a Court Supervisor on the evening, should
you have any queries, please speak to them as they will be happy to help.
Community Coaching Course – It has been great to see our parents step up to volunteer to coach
teams in the association and to support our coaches, Basketball WA will be running a community
coaching course for all members wishing to attend. Please email
email@example.com to register for this course. Date is TBC on interest of
Umpires – This week we had 10 games shadowed by umpires, training in the association. If any
member is wanting to learn to umpire and further develop their knowledge of basketball, please
email your interest to firstname.lastname@example.org as we are working with Basketball
WA to run a Level 0 umpiring course shortly.
Gameday Fixture/Results and I-pad Scoring – This has been a fantastic change for the Association
and parents who have scored their children’s games would agree. If you have not downloaded the
application, please reach out to a committee member/court supervisor and we will assist you.
Parents please remember we need one parent from each team to score every game and the umpires
can’t start the games until this happens.
Winter Fees – The player’s fee for the winter season is $140.00 per player and can be paid via direct
credit to Byford Basketball Association, Bendigo Bank BSB 633000 Acc 160428652 with your child’s
name as the reference. Winter season fees are due by 13th of June. All unfinancial members will not
be able to play after the 13th of June until they are financial. If you have difficulty in making this
payment by the due date or have kids sports vouchers please email
Partnerships – Our committee is currently working on our new partnership agreement for the
association, as we would like to involve our partners in our association, if you would like to support a
rapidly growing association and you are a local business looking at sponsoring, please email
Complaints – Should you wish to raise a complaint regarding anything in our association, we have
created a separate email address for this. Simon, a committee member, will be able to assist and
